I got a blow dry at this salon and asked for curls and not too much volume and showed her a photo of what I was looking for. After blow drying my hair it looked puffy with no curls in sight and worse than I could have done myself at home. I asked the stylist to use a curling iron which she did but she didn’t do anything about the roots. I’m the end it was a far cry from the smooth results I get at my regular stylist. Here are my “curls” and frizzy roots two hours later.
Horrible! Is the first word that comes to mind when I think about my experience at the salon. From the moment I walked in until the minute I left (without getting my hair done) I felt like they didn’t want my business and since I wasn’t a “regular” didn’t seem to value me as a client. I had called earlier in the day to confirm my appointment which they told me was at 2:00 pm. When I arrived at that time the unfriendly receptionist told me I was 30 minutes early. I told her I had called to confirm, she didn’t seem to care or apologize. Ok it happens. The stylist that I had scheduled my appointment with was running late. I politely told the receptionist that I had a wedding that evening in the city and that I needed to be out of the salon shortly. She looked at me like that was my problem and said to please sit down and they would try and find another stylist. They did find someone else that they wanted to charge me more money for. I said I wasn’t going to pay more because of THEIR mistake. Then some rude woman came up to and told me that my only choice would be for me to wait for the original stylist. They clearly did not want my business. I ended up leaving without getting my hair done. Not only will I not return to this salon, but I will spread the word to my friends to avoid this unprofessional and unorganized salon!
I didn't care for this salon at all. The women who worked there barely spoke English which made it challenging to tell them how i wanted my hair done. They talked incessantly among themselves in a foreign language, perhaps Farsi, which I think is very rude. They also looked like they just rolled out of bed; not at all professional. But, the crux of the matter is they did not do a good job blow-drying my hair. The operator, who often held her blow dryer between her knees, did not do my hair how I wanted and I finally gave up. The blow dry barely lasted through my daughter-in-law's bridal shower and certainly not the next day. Normally when I get my hair professionally blow-dried, it lasts at least three days. The woman who TRIED to do French braids on my 9-year-old granddaughter also failed miserably. It took her an hour of braiding and rebraiding her hair, which also did not stay nice-looking even for the duration of the shower. I would definitely not return there and would recommend that you try another salon in the Highland Park area. I rarely give a negative review but this was a total waste of $70.
